Day by Day
Day 1, Campo Grande / Bonito
Pick up at Campo Grande Airport and transfer to Bonito (290km, 03h30min drive). Check-in at your hotel in Bonito and short walk to see the fabulous birdlife at the hotel’s natural area.
Day 2, Bonito (Rio da Prata + Macaws’ Sinkhole)
Early morning pick up at your hotel and transfer to Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata. The birding tour takes place at a Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (RPPN), a conservation unit which protects Olho D'água and Prata rivers. There are great chances to spot species as American anhinga, Rufescent tiger heron, Laughing falcon, Amazonian motmot, several parakeets and many more. Tour ends with a delicious lunch at the main facilities. Afternoon drive to Buraco das Araras (Macaws’ Sinkhole), a natural crater with 124 meters deep and 500 meters diameter carved at the brazilian Cerrado where a large group of Red-and-Green Macaws nests and live. Travelers will be able to observe the great activity of those amazing birds and several other species. Return do hotel.
Day 03, Bonito (Estância Mimosa)
Early morning pick up at your hotel and transfer to Estância Mimosa, a beautiful spot on the margins of Rio Mimoso replete with pristine nature and several waterfalls. With more than 200 registered species, the property is located inside the Cerrado Biome and offers amazing opportunities for birdwatching. Rare species such as White-barred Piculet, Swallow Tanager, Plush-crested jay, Chivi Vireo and Double-collared Seedeater may be found at Estância Mimosa. Delicious lunch will be served by the end of the tour. Return to Bonito, evening at leisure.
Day 4, Bonito / Campo Grande
Depart back on land transfer to Campo Grande (3h30min drive). End of Bonito Birdwatching trip.
