A gastronomic and cultural expedition on west-brazilian cuisine allied to nature tours and beauties of Bonito. Experience gastronomic productions of the region and practice cooking classes using local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.
Day by Day
Day 01 – Campo Grande / Bonito
Pick up at Campo Grande Airport and transfer to Bonito (290km, 03h30min drive). Check in at the hotel. Meet your local host & food expert by the evening and walk through the city center to get to know the local shops and taste handmade ice cream made with regional fruits. Your host will talk about the cultural background of the region, the main ingredients of local cuisine and traditional cooking techniques. Dinner will be at a local restaurant presenting a mixed-tasting menu with regional dishes including the award-winning dish Mojica de Pintado – a catfish stew with coconut milk and spices. Overnight.
Day 02 - Bonito
Departure after breakfast to the Rio da Prata - Bonito's premier snorkeling tour. The morning begins with cooking lesson of traditional local dishes that will be served on lunch menu: Sopa Paraguaia and Linguiça de Maracaju. After lunch, snorkeling activity along the river with an approximate duration of 4 hours to observe the aquatic flora and fauna. Walking tour at Macaw’s Sink Hole at the sunset and return to the pousada at the end of the day. Overnight.
Day 03 – Bonito
Departure after breakfast to Estância Mimosa, a livestock farm located on the banks of the Mimoso River replete with waterfalls and preserved forests. Cooking class to learn about the famous Doce de Leite (Dulce de leche) produced in this farm and used by several restaurants in São Paulo. After lunch, walking tour along preserved riverine forest getting to several waterfalls and natural pools. After the tour, taste the Dulce de leche that has been left cooking on a wood stove for 6 hours. Return to hotel and overnight.
Day 04 – Bonito / Campo Grande
Breakfast and check-out. Depart back on land transfer to Campo Grande (3h30min drive). End of Bonito Food Safari trip.
