Overview
Along Brazilian vast territory there’s one place where horse-riding travel reaches its best: the Pantanal. One of the most biologically rich ecosystems on Earth, the Brazilian Pantanal is renowned for sheltering an extraordinary amount and diversity of wildlife and to have its culture and traditions based on the cattle ranching and cowboy lifestyle. Horses are healthy and light on mouth, easy and comfortable to ride, and the scenery composed by savannas, floodplains and amazing lagoons surrounded by native forests is indeed captivating.
Day by day
Day 1 – Campo Grande / Fazenda Baía das Pedras
Transfer from Campo Grande to the lodge on 4WD vehicle. Check-in, general information, presentation of the facilities. First ride and contact with the Pantaneiros horses, local Peões (cowboys), and typical saddles.
Days 2 & 3 – Pantanal Hotel Fazenda Baía das Pedras
Full days of horse riding tours at the lodge. Rides are normally divided in morning and afternoon, riding for approximately 06 to 08 hours per day. Ride through amazing sceneries, join the cultural activities of the lodge, excellent possibilities for wildlife encounters.
Day 4 – Fazenda Baía das Pedras / Pantanal Bush Camp
Early morning breakfast and take off on horseback, looking forward to reach Pantanal Bush Camp by the end of the day. Full day horse riding, stops for snacks and lunch on the way. Fantastic ride into the Vazante do Castelo, crossing a spectacular area with plenty nature, wildlife and colorful landscapes. Logistics’ support for luggage and meals is done on 4WD vehicle. Overnight in hammocks at the bush camp.
Day 5 - Pantanal Bush Camp / Hotel Barra Mansa Lodge
Departure after breakfast, half-day ride until Pantanal Hotel Barra Mansa Lodge. Sceneries change as closer we get to the Negro River area – known as the most beautiful and protected region in Pantanal. Arrival for lunch, rest and alternative tour in the afternoon – a boat ride to see the amazing wildlife by the Rio Negro.
Day 6 - Pantanal Hotel Barra Mansa Lodge
Full day horse riding at the lodge, divided in morning and afternoon rides. Ride through amazing sceneries with excellent possibilities for wildlife encounters.
Day 7 – Hotel Barra Mansa Lodge/Campo Grande
Transfer after breakfast on 4WD vehicle through Pantanal sceneries. Arrival at Campo Grande Airport or Hotel, according to travelers’ trip plan.
